Which on the face of it, appears to have a positive intention to help you deliver outstanding work, right?
However it also brings with it a great deal of disappointment (when you or others don't meet expectations), stress and self-criticism... which can be extremely unhelpful!!

"Over-prioritising 'perfect outcomes' means you'll always be disappointed because perfect outcomes are, by their very nature, impossible to achieve. And whilst you're chasing 'perfect' your peers will be chasing 'really great' outcomes and using the time they save to get ahead faster in their careers."
